Artist Statement:
I enjoy generating creative ideas through a brief, challenging convention, and taking risks by experimenting with different mediums. For me, awareness of the world around us, being innovative and creatively aware are essential to accomplishing good creative design. Since discovering my interest and enthusiasm for graphic design, my knowledge about designers have inspired me to become more artistically agile. I want to communicate my work through type and imagery of different ways. I find it interesting how graphic design is the process of visual communication and problem-solving through the use of typography, photography and illustration whereby these techniques are used synonymously within my work. I am constantly considering the audience and how they will view my work. I have the power to change how a viewer sees the world, forcing them to see it how I want them too. I will be going to study Graphic and communication Design where I can’t wait to combine the use of these techniques further and convey a meaning within my work.

BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design
Pathway: BA Fashion Design, Nottingham Trent University.
Artist Statement:
Working within fashion has meant that I have experimented using a variety of illustration techniques, tactile textiles, paintings and photography; from this development work I found both my style and the foundations of what I wish to study at further education. When describing myself as an artist I would say that I am experimental and enjoy taking on a challenge. Creating art helps me to express my inner artist license, highlighting the way I wish to experiment with fabrics and other alternative materials.

BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design
Pathway: BA Textile Design, Nottingham Trent University
Artist Statement:
I enjoy the exploration of materials, techniques and processes that subsequently cause tactility. I am inspired by the use of vivid colour and surface texture which combine together to create visual stimulus using clever compositions of materials and stitch. This first began after discovering the exquisite hand embroidery of the artist Emily Notman. This concept then lead to me experimenting with a diverse range of materials and manipulation techniques. I also share a love for fashion design and illustration.
